Saturday our church family gathered to raise the barn. Members of the Church of the Living Word became painters, roofers, carpenters, and helpers of all kind to create a whole new department for our school. A mini-farm being created here at our valley school. As our church family worked there was a sense of renewed vision for what our school could be to our children and the children of our community. Several of our COL students worked on the construction, served food and joined hands with us in creating their future.
Already the "farm" has goats that the children can interact with and a horse that is waiting for her stall to be completed. When finished the barn will have a corral and riding paths that circle much of the lower part of the school. Who knows but FFA may be apart of our curriculum in the near future. Stay tuned.
